Use Snapshots & Recordings to capture photos or manual videos, save clips from Playback, and quickly find, share, or manage everything you’ve saved in the app.

Take a Snapshot or Recording
- Open Live view by tapping your camera’s image preview on Home.
- Use the on-screen tools below the video:

Snapshot: Captures a photo of the current frame. -
Record: Starts a manual video recording. Tap again to stop and save.

- You’ll see a brief confirmation once the photo or video is saved.
Audio: Manual recordings include audio if Audio recording is enabled in Settings > Audio settings. Audio recording laws vary by region. Always ensure compliance with local regulations.
Save a Clip from Playback
- Go to
Playback from Live view or tap the 
Playback button on Home. - Tap
the clip you want to share / save.
Open Snapshots & Recordings Album
- Open
App Settings. - Tap Snapshots & recordings.
Browse & Manage Your Saved Media
The Snapshots & Recordings album shows everything you’ve saved from Live view, Playback, Events, or Smart Search.

Date: Use the calendar at the top to jump to a specific day. -
More: Change View (Grid/List) or Sort (Newest/Oldest). - Open an item: Tap an image preview to view full screen. From there you can Share or Download.
- Delete: Swipe left on an item to delete. (This deletes the saved copy here and doesn’t remove the original event on the microSD card.)
Where These Files Come From & Tips
- Sources: Manual Snapshot/Record from Live view or Playback, plus any items you saved/shared from Events.
- Storage tips: Sort by size and bulk delete to free space; export important clips to your phone and back them up to your preferred storage.
Note: The Snapshots & Recordings album shows media saved on your phone from the Lorex Connect app. It’s separate from Playback recordings kept on the camera’s microSD card.
