HDIP or MPX?

Choosing the right security system

differences between Lorex MPX analog HD security systems and Lorex NVR security systems
MPX or IP? What security systems to choose? analog or digital?
easy installation with PoE (Power over Ethernet technology)

Plug-and-play installation via PoE

Simply connect your IP cameras to the NVRs 8 integrated power-over-ethernet (PoE) ports for a truly plug-and-play surveillance experience. Using PoE technology, each camera only requires a single ethernet cable to connect it to the NVR. This all-in-one cable provides both power and video transmission up to 300ft / 91m. The auto-detect function automatically discovers and configures compatible IP cameras on the same local network as the NVR so you will have your system up and running in no time. This NVR can also incorporate a PoE switch. This switch allows you to not only extend and minimize the amount of cabling required, but it also opens the door for additional cameras.

Security grade hard drive for high workloads

Pre-installed security grade hard drive

Weeks (if not months) of recorded security footage can be safely stored on the dependable 1TB security certified hard drive inside of the NR800 Series NVR. Not only is this HDD designed to be in constant use, it can easily continue to record even while you watch recorded footage. Schedule specific time periods or adapt the NVR to record at a lower resolution to extend available hard drive space. You can also maximize storage space by recording only when movement is detected.

Lorex support was great, unfortunately

"Lorex support was great, unfortunately we could not get my older NVR to see the IP Cameras any longer. Was able to work through the issue with a discounted replacement item that is compatible with my network and cameras. No warranty lasts forever, and I do believe lightning or a power surge to be at fault for the original equipment failure. Lorex gave me confidence and a reasonable discount to try again. If you are in an area of questionable voltage or power issues, please consider the extended warranty that meets your needs. I would recommend this system to friends and family."

Hi.. system is working as

"Hi.. system is working as expected. Got up and running quickly, and enjoying a wide range of functionality. I think the interface when on the main unit can be improved with a web interface that looks like the one accessed with my browser. Also.. the web interface uses a plugin that opens another browser window.. which is a little kludgy. This seems to be the same interface as 10 years ago. Even with those draw backs.. the system and phone app worked well.. and I have a good system to check up on pets, etc. now. Support is very good too. Thanks."

I?m very happy with this

"I?m very happy with this product so far. I originally owned a Flir Nvr 308 which to me has an easier menu to find things but the lorex program you will get used to it. Extremely easy to set up on the web to view on your phone compared to older versions So I?m very happy with it and will give 5 stars"

Read reviews that it was

"Read reviews that it was noisy. At first it was ok, but after only a week of use, it started making this high pitched squealing noise. I think its the fan. Very annoying. No clear demos on how to connect with a Apple Mac. PC based and not really Mac friendly. If I'm mistaken on that, please direct to a good video how to view on a Mac"

The product is great, but

"The product is great, but what?s even a better piece of mind is the company behind the product. My router ports went bad due to electrical storm. I thought my NVR was malfunctioning. Through multiple, and promptly replied emails, your company solved the problem and discovered the real cause. My system is back up and running great. Great product, great company."

— Arbitrary R. (5/5)

I have had this NVR

"I have had this NVR for several weeks and it has been running fine. As others have said, the fan is a bit noisy, but I understand the extra power/cooling required for providing POE. I have it installed in a closet so the noise is not distracting."

— I E. (5/5)

NVR works great. It is

"NVR works great. It is easy to setup. As others have mentioned, the fan is rather noisy / loud. The biggest drawback to this NVR is that its video output resolution is only 1920 x 1080. If you have cameras with greater resolution than standard high definition, this NVR will only display in high definition."
