Removing or Inserting the MicroSD Card
Supports up to 512 GB (V10, FAT32). The microSD card slot is just below the camera lens inside the reset/microSD card compartment.
Warning: Removing the card while recording may cause data loss. Always stop recording or power off first.

- Power off the lightbulb camera, or stop recording in the app.
- Tilt the lightbulb camera lens upward to expose the reset/microSD card cover. Remove the cover.
- To remove: Press gently until the card pops out, then pull it out.
- To insert: Slide the card (label side down) into the slot until it clicks.
- Replace the cover securely.
- Power back on.
Lightbulb Camera Won’t Power On
- Make sure the lightbulb camera is fully screwed into a working E26 socket.
- Test the socket with another device to confirm it works.
- If the socket is on a wall switch, ensure the switch is turned on.
- The camera operates between -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C). If outside this range, bring it back into range.
Lightbulb Camera Not Connecting to the App
The SL301 uses Bluetooth for setup.
- Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Temporarily disable VPN or private DNS on your phone during setup.
- Ensure the lightbulb camera is powered on and the status LED light is blinking (ready to pair).
- Follow the onboarding prompts in the Lorex Connect app.
- If pairing fails, reset the camera and try again.
Can’t Connect to Wi-Fi
- Double-check and re-enter your Wi-Fi password carefully.
- The SL301 supports 2.4 GHz & 5GHz Wi-Fi. Make sure the correct band is enabled on your router.
- In the app, check Settings > Device info > Signal strength.
- Move the router closer to the lightbulb camera or use a Wi-Fi extender.
Lightbulb Camera Drops Offline
- Check Wi-Fi strength in the app under Settings > Device info > Signal strength.
- Reconnect to Wi-Fi under Settings > Device info > Wi-Fi network.

- Make sure the router is within range or use a Wi-Fi extender.
- Reduce interference by switching your router to a less congested Wi-Fi channel.
- Confirm the socket and wall switch are providing power.
-
Reboot the lightbulb camera:

- Turn off power to the light socket or wall switch for 10 seconds.
- Turn it back on and wait for the LED to show status.
- Or, in the app, go to Settings > Device info > Reboot device.
- If issues continue, reboot your router and re-pair the lightbulb camera in the Lorex Connect app.
Light Won’t Turn On or Off
- Tap the
Light button in Live view or on the camera's image preview in the app. - Go to Settings > Light settings > Smart motion activation and choose what activates the light:
- All motion - any motion
- Person - people only
-
Vehicle - vehicles only
- Adjust:
- Detection sensitivity - slide left for fewer activations, right for more
- Light brightness - dimmer or brighter
- Light mode - Solid or Flashing
- Light duration - how long the light stays on (30 sec, 1 min, 5 min)
- If you prefer scheduled lighting, turn Smart motion activation off and use Auto-lighting or Light schedule.
- If the lightbulb camera is grouped with other devices, remember group settings override individual ones.
- Person detection works best within 65 ft (20 m). Reposition the lightbulb camera if needed.
Too Many Notifications
You can manage alerts directly in the app:
- In Settings > Notifications and alerts, set specific times for when you want to receive alerts.
- In Settings > Detection Settings, enable Person Detection or Vehicle Detection so you only get important alerts.

- Bring the sensitivity down in Settings > Detection Settings > Motion/Person Detection > Detection sensitivity for fewer alerts.
- In Settings > Detection Settings > Motion/Person Detection > Motion Zones, redraw or resize zones to focus on key areas, and lower sensitivity to reduce false alerts.

- On the live view screen, tap
Do Not Disturb to temporarily pause notifications. - Turn on
Privacy Mode when you’re at home or outside nearby to stop alerts.
Note: Don’t forget to turn Privacy Mode off when you go back inside so your lightbulb camera can resume recording and sending alerts.
Poor or No Night Vision
- Ensure the lens and IR LEDs are not blocked. Don't aim the camera directly at brick walls, fences, ceilings, glass or reflective surfaces - the infrared light will bounce back and cause glare.
- Clean the camera lens with a soft cloth.
- For best results, make sure objects are within (up to 26 ft / 8 m) of the camera.
No Audio or Poor Audio Quality
- In Settings > Audio, adjust microphone sensitivity and speaker volume.

- Ensure Audio recording is enabled.
- Remove any obstructions near the microphone or speaker.
- Check that your phone's volume is turned up when listening.
Motion Alerts Not Triggering
- Ensure Motion detection is turned on in Settings > Detection settings.

- Make sure Smart motion activation is turned on if you want the light to respond to detections.
