This guide provides step-by-step instructions for connecting the mobile solar-powered security camera system's 4G modem to a Wi-Fi network, ensuring reliable remote connectivity for monitoring and control.


Prerequisites

  • A computer (PC or laptop) with an Ethernet port
  • An Ethernet cable


How to connect the 4G Modem to a Wi-Fi network

  1. Power on and Connect:
    • Ensure the 4G modem/router is powered on.
    • Connect the computer to the modem using an Ethernet cable plugged into either the ETH0 or ETH1 port.
  2. Access the Modem Interface:
    • Open a web browser on the connected computer.
    • Enter the default gateway IP address: 192.168.1.1
    • When prompted, log in using the default credentials:
      • Username: admin
      • Password: admin
  3. Verify System Status:
    • Upon initial login, navigate to the System Status menu
    • Confirm that the Status is indicated as Offline

  4. Configure Wi-Fi Settings:
    • From the main menu, go to Network > WLAN
    • Choose to Create a new SSID or Edit an existing one
  5. Set Up Wi-Fi Client Mode:
    • In the SSID configuration:
      • Set Enabled to On
      • Set Mode to Client (STA)
      • From the SSID dropdown, select the desired Wi-Fi network
      • Enter the corresponding Password for the selected Wi-Fi network
      • Click OK to apply the settings
  6. Finalize Configuration:
    • The modem/router will reboot to apply the new settings
    • After the reboot, log in again to the modem interface
    • Navigate to the System Status menu and verify that the Internet Status now reads Online
