Ultimately, this high resolution will provide you with the best chance to capture useable evidence should an incident ever occur.

What does 4K resolution mean?

4K resolution is based on the amount of pixels the camera's image sensor has on it. In order to be considered 4K, there must be at least 8,000,000 pixels. This dome security camera, in particular, can record at a pixel ratio of 3840 (horizontal) x 2160 (vertical) - a total of 8,294,400. That is about 4× the amount of pixels that a 1080p HD resolution camera has. A further advantage of a 4K security camera is that the higher amount of pixels allows for much better digital zooms. So if you spot something in your footage that you need to zoom in on, specific details, such as facial features, will remain visible for longer as you zoom in further and further into the image.

Invisible to the naked eye, but not to the camera, this infrared lighting will allow your security camera to see in complete darkness.

Enhanced security monitoring with HDR

HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a technology used by this security camera to ensure that you capture the most important details, regardless of differing lighting conditions within the same frame. This feature uses this difference to automatically adjust the picture's brightness, so that no part of the frame is too dark or too bright to see details.

Increased clarity in low-light scenes

This camera also uses DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) technology to filter out noise / grain from low-light scenes. This provides you with a cleaner, more accurate image with better clarity, sharpness, and improved motion detection. It will also help reduce video file sizes as well, which will save you storage space on your NVR.

HEVC / H.265 compression

Keep the 4K footage without the 4K file sizes with High Efficiency Video Compression (HEVC) compression technology. Also known as H.265 or MPEG-H Part 2, this feature will compress video file sizes up to 40% more than the previous video compression technology without any noticable difference in quality. When combined with one of our 4K security recorders that are capable of receiving this type of encoding, you can expect smaller file sizes, longer record times, and higher remote viewing video quality without large data transfers.

Regional motion zones

Program this camera with up to four different motion zones using your NVR. These zones can be customized to adjust the sensitivity - the amount of movement required to register that movement - and threshold - how much movement is required before creating a motion "event" of the camera. So more important areas, like a doorway, can be adjusted so that any movement at all will trigger recording (or create a motion event), while other sections of the frame, like a tree, would need a much higher level of motion.
