PoE+ power-over-ethernet switch from Lorex by FLIR

Expand your network security system with this high-speed 8-channel POE+ switch. This switch works the same way as the Network Video Recorder (NVR) but offers further distance and flexibility for your system. It provides 30-watts of power and network connection to your IP security cameras. With a PoE switch you won't always have to run cables all the way back to the NVR. Instead, you now have two options to choose from (the NVR and the PoE switch). That means you can have the NVR in one corner of your home / business and place the switch in a completely different area, thus eliminating the need for lengthy cables for all the cameras. A PoE switch such as this is the perfect addition to your security system if you have a large property or wish to expand your system to the maximum number of cameras.

PoE+ 30 watts of power can control PTZ security cameras

Powerful 30W PoE+ switch

Some IP cameras (such as Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras) need additional power to operate. If you need to extend the reach of a PTZ camera in your system you will need a PoE+ switch such as this. Rather than the 15-watts of power provided by standard PoE switches, this PoE+ switch will provide 30-watts of power - enough to control the PTZ functions of your cameras.

Use a PoE+ switch to extend distance

Expand camera distance over 300ft

This PoE switch (with the help of your router) can help simplify and extend the wiring for your installation. The maximum distance you can install an IP camera from the NVR is 300ft /92m. Using your PoE+ switch, you can expand that distance significantly. Simply connect the PoE switch to your router and NVR using two seperate ethernet cables (up to 300ft / 92m in length), then connect the IP cameras to the PoE switch. This can add up to a further 300ft in length. Multiple PoE switchs can add even more distance. The ACCLPS281BW 8-channel PoE switch can also increase the number of security cameras in your system. For example, if your NVR has 32 channels, but only 16 PoE ports, this 8-channel PoE switch will allow you to incorporate an additional eight cameras.
