"Only had for one month and 2 weeks it stopped working. Had to call customer support to help but after 6 hours they decide to send a new device. Let’s hope this one works. They sent a device and no other instructions if I have to call to get it set up, hire someone etc. customer service is horrible, they are not helpful. Lorex does not offer any help at all. They want customers to do the IT trouble shooting job by sending me a YouTube link to do it myself."

"This combination runs the newer software allowing for better section of animals, vehicles and people. The cameras I believe have a more robust hardware ability for the advanced detection. The new camera housings are one piece allowing for better adverse weather resistance. I owned a Lorex unit I purchased from Costco. This unit never really could discern the difference between a moth or a person. Thus, I spent many hours looking thru tripped events only to see moths. The combination I have now narrows down the triggered events to just the trigger I select, I.e. in my back yard there will be no vehicles so that is not a selected trigger. Triggers between animals and people can be at different heights if there is nothing for the animals to climb. The newer cameras have a very attractive full circle color ring that indicates they are working. This ring is customizable to any color you wish. It is great for setting up your system. I kept mine on for several weeks as I enjoyed the deep blue color I selected. I have noticed that sometimes my camera will trigger and only get a small bit of the person or animal. I would like to see the trigger time adjustable to include a bit of time prior and after the person/animal is detected. I do enjoy this combination and can recommend a purchase."

Can I use 16 wired cameras if I use a switch?
No, the recorder only supports 8 wired cameras and 8 Wi-Fi cameras. it is not possible to add 8 more wired cameras for a total of 16 wired cameras.
Will the animal detection feature pn this system detect mountain lions, foxes, bobcats or other wildlife that approaches? We live high in the mountains and this is a priority in selecting a system.
