  1. Color nighttime video typically switches to black & white IR night vision when there is not sufficient ambient light to ensure optimal low-light image quality.
  2. Stated IR illumination range is based on ideal conditions in typical outdoor nighttime ambient lighting (up to 32 ft or 10 m in total darkness). Actual range and image clarity depends on installation location, viewing area and light reflection/absorption.
  3. Audio recording is disabled by default. Audio recording without consent is illegal in certain jurisdictions. Lorex Technology does not assume liability for any use of its product that fails to conform with local laws.
  4. Accuracy of Person and Vehicle Detection will be influenced by multiple factors, such as the object1s distance from the camera, the size of the object, and the height and angle of the camera. Night vision will also impact the accuracy of detection.
  5. Not intended for submersion in water. Installation in a sheltered area recommended.
  6. Controlling certain features in your security system requires a compatible smart device. Availability and performance of certain features and services are smart device dependent and may not be available in all areas or networks. The camera has a 10ft

"The camera has a 10ft USB power cord and comes with a 10ft extension cable - probably more than enough to reach the nearest outlet. The downside of a full-size USB plug is that you can't simply drill a hole and poke it through the wall: you'll need to feed it through an attic vent or the corner of a doorway. The camera also comes with a 32GB SD card, which I wasn't expecting. The video is 2560x1440 at 15 frames per second, and the claimed 140 degree field of view seems about right. In the city where I live, there's enough nighttime ambient light that I don't need to use infrared mode, aka "Auto Night Vision". I also switched off "High Dynamic Range" because at night, it seems to cause fluctuation in the brightness of the picture. The camera automatically adds a date/time-stamp to the video, and it uses the H. 265 (MP4) codec. This means that if you use a third-party security-camera app (e. g. Blue Iris) on your desktop PC, you can record direct-to-disk with minimal use of the computer's CPU. The "Lorex Classic" smartphone app has a clean interface and is easy to use, although it has a one-device-per-email-address limitation. You'll need to use the "Shared Users" functionality if you want to install it on your tablet and smartphone, for example, and you'll need to use a different email address for each device."

"Many issues with the wifi conection. My camera is about 30 feet from the modem. Loses conection several times a day . . wifi receptor may not be strong enough, added a wifi range enhancer to improve performance , my 4 other cameras are fine"

"I was told that these camera's were plug and play without any downloads but as I tried them there is a program that has to be loaded, since I had an eye operation I have not been able to see good ennough to download the program that wasn't needed to poperate the cameras, I have no idea what they are like or even if they work my eye is still healingmaybe by the end of the week, if I can find the program."

Is there a light sensitivity setting? We are recently having trouble at night by our dimly lit front door position so that it does not even turn on. No problem during the day.

No, for now lorex does not have any WiFi cameras that can be charged by soler panels, but we do have some wireless cameras that will work with that installation, but those cameras also need a receiver.
