  2. Color nighttime video typically switches to black & white IR night vision when there is not sufficient ambient light to ensure optimal low-light image quality.
  3. Stated IR illumination range is based on ideal conditions in typical outdoor nighttime ambient lighting (up to 98ft/30m in total darkness). Actual range and image clarity depends on installation location, viewing area and light reflection/absorption.
  4. For Face Detection to operate, this camera requires a connection to a compatible Lorex Network Video Recorder with smart face detection technology. For a list of compatible recorders please visit: www.lorex.com/compatibility
  5. Audio recording is disabled by default. Audio recording without consent is illegal in certain jurisdictions. Lorex Technology does not assume liability for any use of its product that fails to conform with local laws

"I was looking for a system that was simple to integrate with my home: nothing wireless that would require battery swaps over time. And I wanted something that I could use through my Apple devices. After research, I found the Lorex system and got this setup. (I'd like to note that the sales person was spectacular, but that is not part of this review) The setup was very straightforward. Power over Ethernet made it practically plug-and-play. Installation was easy thanks to a VERY helpful template included with the cameras! It works very, very well. It connects to my television directly on its own input source for administrative purposes; I access through my home computer, iPhone, iPad, and AppleTV. The picture quality is particularly good in low-light scenarios. It's surprising how good the resolution is as such. The microphone is very sensitive as well. 9.9 out of 10. The only detraction I would have is with the receiver not being able to use a wireless mouse and keyboard setup, meaning that administrative tasks must be done with their mouse, AT the device, with my 40" TV right in my face - including typing in passwords WITH the mouse. Not convenient at all. However, if I had to do it again, I would still get this setup."
