Smart Motion Detection

This system comes with advanced person and vehicle detection that helps identify more important objects that enter the camera's field of view. Thanks to this innovative feature, you will only get a push notification to your Lorex Cloud app whenever motion from a person or vehicle is detected on your property. This effectively reduces the number of unwanted false alerts caused by moving branches or animals.


Please note that even though Smart Motion Detection is compatible with recorders using the Lorex Cloud App, the mobile push notifications will not differentiate between a vehicle or person event.

4. Color nighttime video typically switches to black & white IR night vision when there is not sufficient ambient light to ensure optimal low-light image quality.
5. Stated IR illumination range is based on ideal conditions in typical outdoor nighttime ambient lighting (up to 98ft/30m in total darkness). Actual range and image clarity depends on installation location, viewing area and light reflection/absorption.

7. Not intended for submersion in water. Installation in a sheltered area recommended.
8. A microSD card can be inserted for independent recording. Data can be accessed through the camera using a web browser but will not upload to the NVR or to the cloud for mobile app viewing.

Where do I start… horrible

"Where do I start… horrible system If I could return I would unfortunately I waited 5 months to install it. The installation instructions are very minimal unless you’re a tech savvy person. I connected mine to a switch and lord no where in the instructions did it say I have to manually go into the settings and add them. Next the brackets that you drill to mount the cameras need to be perfectly flat otherwise the cameras will not click in. So when mounting to the soffit which has some play it’s a nightmare. Now the Ethernet cable I should come on a spool so it unwinds easy instead it keeps kinking and tangling itself which is what you DO NOT want when you’re running these cables through an attic because obviously not all attics are 5ft or taller and they get really narrow as you get closer to the soffit. I wouldn’t recommend and regret not going wireless"

Support is horrible.

"I have the NVR system Nocturnal and after about 2yrs or so, 3 of my 8 cameras have this "blur". You can see clear but compared to my other cameras there are also outdoors, 3 are an issue. The zoom feature is not bad but it has to be clear. This does show you night vision but if there's anything moving to quickly for the camera to pick up, it makes it hard to see at night. It's very blurry with moving objects. It's not about the megapixel but the sensor on these cameras for night time use which is when most of your events happen. I called to see if there was a camera with automatic license plate readers. No. I called for better night vision. . No. I had an issue and when I went to use my extended warranty, that also had expired after 2yrs which is about the time frame for these cameras to start to become defective. Support is terrible- They do not understand what's needed when it comes to complex questions. For basic recording, these will work just fine. But for what I paid, I could have purchased a little better product. I'm returning my PTZ camera after receiving it today and will upgrade for a better CCTV system. A friend told me about Lorex but the price point for these cameras I'd recommend spending elsewhere especially if night recording and license plate reading is important to you. If not, these are "decent" for a starter system. Warning -- Support is terrible. If you read these reviews, find the pattern. You'll notice customer support being a pattern."

"The camera works well and is clear and crisp, I was naive and mislead by the advertising and marketing of the camera into thinking it was a camera that worked similar to the light bulb camera where it detects and follows someone. But after receiving it I soon realized it was a stationary camera, good quality, but not exactly what I was led to believe based on marketing. I would have bought a different camera knowing now what I do."

Yes, you can use a CAT6 Ethernet cable to connect your camera
Can I see my camera on my iPhone when away from home
If the camera is connected to a compatible recorder, if the recorder is connected to the Internet and you have already added the recorder to the compatible application, then yes you can get remote access to the camera.
Does this send an email when it has an alert and can I run right from my router to the camera without a recorder? And is there an app for this to watch this? And does the sound come across the app?
No, it doesn't send alerts and there is no app available if you connect it to your router instead of a compatible recorder.
Can you read a cartoon license plate at night from 100 ft?
Reading the license plate of the car depends on many physical factors such as the speed of the car, light reflection, and the distance and angle between the camera and the car, so we cannot guarantee that the license plate will be clearly displayed from 100 ft away. about the recording characteristics involved in that, the camera can be set up to 4K resolution (8MP) at 30fps.
Is there a cloud based storage solution?
This camera is not yet compatible with our cloud storage.
