"This is not a review of this particular power supply. I have had my system for three years. I have replaced the DVR within warranty one time. After 10 to 12 months I started having problems with the camera power supplies. The video would have noise bars, go out completely etc. After many hour's of troubleshooting and waiting on the phone for tech support, I did this. I purchase a CCTV power supply which has outputs for eighteen camera's, although I only used eight of them. I have had no further problems with camera power."

When you consider the convenience

"When you consider the convenience of having only 1 power supply for 4 cameras, this product can remove a lot of clutter around your DVR. If you have a DVR, 8 cameras, a monitor and a wireless HDMI transmitter to plug in near each other, it can be pretty frustrating... This adapter is certainly much easier than a single adapter for each camera...However, I don't really feel the adapter should have failed in the first place.... I also had the adapter for the DVR fail during the warranty period.. Lorex did replace both adapters free of charge, so the warranty is certainly worth it... I would recommend this product when compared to a an adapter for each camera... but they will not last forever...."

This is the second adapter

"This is the second adapter I will replace for my system that I use for my dog training and boarding business. My system suddenly shut down the other night, I checked the adapter and it was too hot to touch! I have been unplugging it often, to avoid a complete meltdown or fire? I leave the premises from time to time and rely on my camera system to see what is going on while I am out. I cannot leave my system on, today, while I leave for an appointment. I will have much stress not being able to check on the precious animals in my care! I will order a new one in hopes that the next adapter does not quit on me or start a fire. I have also had terrible success with customer service on the phone..."

I had my security system

"I had my security system for about 6 years and have replaced the camera's power adapter 5 times . This adapter is the correct one for the system that I have been told by Lorex technicians. system is a Lorex model/series LH110 ECO. I give this power adapter a no star rating."

I have the same concerns

"I have the same concerns as the other writer about the power adapter. I love my cameras and the recordings but after a year and a 1/2 the power adapter no longer works. I have been trying to chat with someone from lorex but it always says they're busy with another customer. Why do I have to buy a power adapter for the system that otherwise works, only for that power adapter to probably go in a year and a 1/2 from now. I keep a fan running constantly to cool the adaptors and DVR not sure why this would fail. Would be a 5 star if not for the power failure."

Like many of the other

"Like many of the other reviews, this product failed within a year... and my system has 2 power units that run 4 cameras each. Purchased 2 over the past calendar year and BOTH have failed within that time. Obviously an inferior product, or as someone mentioned, a product that is not matched to the system (perhaps too low of an amp rating). Product came with a 2 year warranty... nice! Submitted a warranty claim. It was denied within a minute. Called customer service. How do you rate customer service when there is NONE! Did the "automatic call back feature" twice. Neither time was my call returned. Now on hold for over 20 minutes a third time. I'll go with the Samsung system in the future or try my luck with a generic power supply with the same rating from Amazon. Either way, I strongly advise you against Lorex products. An inferior product coupled with non-existent customer service... I don't see how they are still in business."
