Not your conventional HDD, this hard drive is manufactured with the ability to safely record and playback footage simultaneously. With 1 terabyte of storage, you can record weeks (or even months) of footage. Configure your DVR to record in a lower resolution or program scheduled and motion-triggered recordings to maximize your hard drive storage space.

To start when I called

"To start when I called the company to buy I was given an offer and I was told that I could think about it and call back. I did the next day and after waiting a long time I was told that Sam would call me back, no return call. So I bought the unit, any way shipping was very fast and all was in the box. Installed three days later and the first night one of the cameras went out. Tryed several things and after several hours it came back up on it's own. The unit seems to have a good picture, only thing I don't like is the DVR fan is loud. I had some problems with the apps. The problem was that the barcode first numer, it is a letter this is because it looked like a 1 not an l, my error. The unit rebooted once on it's own don't know why. For future note I should have gotten a six or eight channel unit my mistake. If the unit performs as it does now other then the loud DVR, the only other down side is it takes for ever to talk to support, customer service."

I have had this system

"I have had this system installed on my house for two years now and decided to review it after just purchasing another system for a summer home, This system though was easy to set up, it.s been reliable and i have been able to view it anytime from any location. I have it set to alert me when there is movement, works well. Can't wait to get the new system up and running. Running wires can be difficult if you are trying to hide them but system and wires work well under ground in dirt or hanging over head and in all weather summer heat or freezing cold,"

"Got this set october 2017, over a year later in now 2 canadian winters, the cameras still work perfectly fine. Lens are still clear as they were when new. The camera housings are still in like new condition (no rusting or corrosion of any sort). Would highly reccomend this brand in general"

Bought this LHV system directly

"Bought this LHV system directly from Lorex November 2016 but didn't install it until December 2017; big mistake! By early February 2018 (less than 3 months after installation) I was getting interruptions from 1 bullet camera feed whenever the temperatures floated above or below the freezing marks. I called it in to Lorex but January is not the best time weather-wise to be going in and out messing with a camera in the New York area. I finally followed up when the weather gave the chance and they sent a replacement after a series of test to prove nothing was wrong with the cable. I replaced it and guess what, this camera had the same issue but worse. By now it was May and temperatures were low for the season but not freezing. I called it in and they were saying it's the cable but what I did without their knowledge was install the replacement camera on a different cable (which had no problems with the previous camera since December 2017) to rule-out any chance of a cable issue when I got the replacement. Now I have received my 2nd (3rd unit) replacement and guess what...now it works fine as far as sub freezing temperatures go, but this camera's night vision is virtually non-existent! So now i can see clearly above or below the freezing temps as long as its not night out. So of the 4 cameras, 3 have worked flawlessly making this system 75% dependable. I do have 2 systems sharing the same location and the 2nd system (LHA model with plastic housing color night-vision cameras) has worked flawlessly and was installed the same time as this LHV unit with the camera issue. I must say I was a bit surprised that the metal body cameras had issues over/before the plastic body units. Despite all this, I think they are sturdy systems based on my 75% LHV and 100% LHA models at this location. I just purchased my 4th Lorex system (2nd system in less than 6 months) as I do not foresee this issue being a common occurrence with all their systems. The app works fine but my only problem which is somewhat of an inconvenience is not all their systems use the same app. So for someone like myself with multiple/different models, I have to float between apps (on the phone and on the computer) to view the status of my various systems. I'm giving it a 4 star but perhaps since I have not received what hopefully will be my final replacement camera i should give it a 3 star. But truth is, I now have 3 more systems to review and quiet frankly, I averaged the 75%+100% since they were installed at the same time at the same location."
