The only issue I've had was the HDD started to fail about 2 years into ownership, but I was able to easily replace the drive with a larger, better HDD, so it was a win win. "My system has been up and running for more than one year. It's been a very reliable system that I decided to upgrade and take advantage of the discounts that are mostly seen in this time of season (from Black Friday to Christmas). I expanded my system from 4 channel to 8 channel system and with this huge discounts from Lorex why not. The only thing that bothers me is there's no option to disable the password in case of an emergency and you need to access the PTZ camera very quick to follow a person(suspect) or focus on a crime that is currently happening. By the time you're done entering the password which is very hard to do especially when using a mouse(you need to click the keys one by one in order to get thru) the suspect is LONG WAY GONE. The system should have an option to disable the password or much a quicker way to get thru the system such as finger print reader or facial recognition in these kind of situations in order to maximize the power and features of the Pan , Tilt, and ZOOM cameras."

"My system has only been up and running for several days but so far all has gone well and the NVR has been easy to access and navigate though there are many settings that I am not currently acclimated with. The basic setup to get the NVR up and running was simple enough along with getting the PC desktop app and Lorex Cloud App linked to the device. Solid NVR! The NR8141 has

"Solid NVR! The NR8141 has served me well. It is not mastered over night, it took me a few hours over a few weeks (30 min here and there) to set it up just right. This is not the NVR's design, it is the fact that the learning curve is steep. I have used the 1-800 Support and they were hit or miss with support. Sometimes it took 2 minuets others it took 45 minuets to talk to support. Support has always got me straight in the end. The app has worked flawlessly in conjunction with the NR8141. At the end of the day, I wish I got the 8 Channel version to add more cameras. I have swapped the internal 1TB drive for a WD Purple 4TB Surveillance Hard Drive. It gives me 2 weeks of continuous recording with 2 4K cameras and 2 2K cameras."

Generally, this camera system worked

"Generally, this camera system worked out well for me. There is a learning curve involved with configuring the system and using the software, but overall it's generally a good system, especially if you've never owned a security camera system before. I don't get great night vision, though it says 140 feet. I had my car stolen out of my driveway recently, The camera was within the 140 feet and caught the whole thing, but I did not get a good picture of the thief's facial features. Also, the motion sensor is too sensitive, so I am not able to use it - trees blowing in a mild wind sets off the motion detection. Installation was fairly easy. This system is limited to a small number of cameras. Also, it will detect your IP cameras even if tech support says it won't."

"This product compares to brand names and products that sell for a lot more then this impressive unit sells for. The user interface is simple to use with limited networking knowledge.
