The quality of the picture from the cameras, even when watching it remotely on my phone, is crystal clear. The app is easy to use and it gives my wife peace of mind when she's home. The cameras are barely noticeable and subtle but offer enough "you're being watched" attention to deter anyone from doing anything nefarious. The install process is easy as ever with simply running wires and plugging them into the DVR. This is my 2nd Lorex system and it's the only system I recommend to my friends and family. I did my homework and researched just about every system out there and it came down to Lorex and a few other competitors for best advertised bang for your buck without having to signup for a yearly or monthly service charge. And I am glad I went with Lorex. All cameras are top notch built out of aircraft aluminum and when you put them in your hand, they even feel like a solid product. This was validated after setting everything up and reviewed the footage. Everything was trouble free, with the exception of one camera that I discovered that went bad just before I installed it. I don't know what happened to it, since I tested the cam prior to install, but I called customer service and they exchanged the camera after only a few questions. They did this the most convenient way possible by sending me the new one first after initiating the RA number, then I shipped the bad one back in the same packaging which already included postage. So I am attest to the customer service as being good as well. The NVR system is top notch as well with plenty of features that took minimal setup time because each camera basically set itself up. All I had to do was learn how to setup the motion detection options, with minor tweaking after putting the cameras to use. The system package I chose was the 4KSDAI168, which is still available at huge discount. It comes with the NVR system N861D63B which allows up to 16 channels. It also came with 8 Bullet 4k cams E891AB, of which have excellent LED and nitetime IR illumination with plenty of options for motion detection, SMART motion detection and talk back features. I also added two 2k dome PTZ cameras, which I have no complaints over except that I wish they had them available in 4k. There are also applications available to view and change settings remotely, without having to sign any yearly contract. They aren't perfect apps, but they do a good job while you're away, and the quality and speed of the video is only limited to the connection you have while working remotely. Some good advice is to setup a second IP data stream at a low resolution so that remote viewing plays back a lot faster, for a little sacrifice in streaming quslity. I plan on purchasing about 4 more cams in the near future to cover some areas inside the house, especially to watch and communicate with our dogs when we are away from the home. Cameras provide very clear surveillance in all lighting conditions. I did expect the audio feature would be more robust - there's a significant delay - but is adequate to monitor the kids when they're in the backyard playing. While the smart motion detection is good, the algorithm could use some improvement - tree shadows in the driveway and backyard often send a "person detected" alarm, or even sometimes a vehicle detection." — Mark M. (5/5) These are the best effin "These are the best effin cameras, bro. Too bad they aren't selling this package anymore for the rest of yous. Got this deal for under $1200 with the Solar sign for the yard, the nvr lock box and system. It was more than worth it. The microphones work just fine ... don't know what the ish is in Dustins cereal. It did take about 12 hours to install as I was quite meticulous and choosey about where I put what. The lock box is awesome! It is very sturdy and heavy and the fan on it does make some noise I will agree but it is not an upending noise it is just a discernable whirring/hum. I like the zoom feature and they came packaged immaculately. I was super impressed with the presentation and delivery of the product. I haven't had a single issue since installing them in May and am excited to say I am the owner of a Lorex system and that it is payed off and working as intended. I love you Lorex. The worst thing about these cameras is the customer service. It?s outsourced to India and its like I?m talking to a recorded machine. They read off of a paper for every rebuttal or question. Its been over 15 years from my first attempt. Finally the technology is pretty mature and Lorex 8MP cameras represent a really good sensor using 4K signals. The daytime images are really good. Night low light is still a challenge but better than past cameras. The setup and interface is much more user friendly and it looks like Lorex put some thought into the product. Will see how the 3TB hard drive works with 9 8MP cameras plus a 2K PTZ... would like to have seen a 4K PTZ but did not see on in the line up. Replaced my old coax/DC power cables with the Cat 5e and am really happy with power over the ethernet...no more image jitters with power supplies. Also moved my system from basically hidden to now use one of my available 4K TVs... much more convenient. Am looking at the playback and snapshot features and am a little puzzled... Just plugged in the cameras to do a quick test and every camera came right up. After the difficult task of running the wires through my low gabled roof, I started hooking the cameras outside and everything was immediately working. Working through getting all the special motion sensing took a little bit of a learning curve but some of the online help videos guided me along figuring it out. I am still a bit confused with all the different apps, between lorex home, lorex cloud and the pc app vs just using the DVR itself. I am very happy with the overall product and quality of both video and audio recording. I also added a 2nd hard drive and that was so very easy! Only thing that bothers my wife a bit is how noisy the fan in the unit is, but I have heard that same complaint with all these NVRs. I would buy same system again!!" — John R.
