A Junction Box is a protective enclosure that houses and organizes the electrical connections for your Security Camera System. It provides a secure and organized way to connect cables, power supplies, and other components, ensuring a clean and professional installation.

Junction Boxes offer several benefits for achieving a clean and professional installation for your security camera system:

• Protect cables: Junction boxes provide a secure enclosure for your cables, shielding them from damage and ensuring a longer lifespan.
• Conceal cables: By running camera cables through the wall directly behind the junction box, you can effectively hide them from view, creating a more aesthetically pleasing and tamperproof installation.
• Use conduit: Junction boxes have a fitting for conduit pipes, allowing you to easily insert a conduit to further protect and conceal your cables as they run along the wall or ceiling.
• Avoid obstructions: Junction boxes can be used to lower the camera's position, allowing you to avoid obstructions such as eavestroughs or fascia boards, ensuring optimal camera placement and coverage.

Lorex offers a variety of different junction boxes to meet your specific needs, installation requirements, and aesthetic:

• Shape: Choose a round or square junction box to match your installation aesthetics.
• Color: Select a black or white junction box to blend seamlessly with your camera and surroundings.
• Screw Configuration: Opt for a 3-screw or 4-screw junction box based on your security camera’s requirement – see Camera Compatibility Chart.
• Size: Choose a regular or large junction box depending on the number of cables and connections you need to accommodate. For PTZ Security Cameras, a large junction box is often recommended to handle the additional wiring and power requirements.

The installation process for a junction box will vary depending on the specific model and your installation requirements. However, most junction boxes are relatively easy to mount to any surface. The camera can then be installed onto the junction box.  Please note that Bullet Security Cameras, Turret Security Cameras, and Dome Security Cameras are all connected to a junction box differently. Junction boxes are primarily designed for wired security cameras. Lorex Wi-Fi Cameras, on the other hand, are not compatible with Junction Boxes.  It's important to consult our Product Compatibility Chart for your specific camera to determine its junction box compatibility and installation requirements.
