Lorex Connect Cloud+ - AI Smart Search+

Lorex AI Smart Search+ lets you search your video recordings using everyday language (e.g., "package delivered”).

How it works:

• Your video clips are analyzed using AI technology provided by Google Cloud (a third-party service in the U.S.) to create searchable descriptions and tags.
• AI-generated descriptions, vector embeddings, and event metadata are stored to enable natural-language search of your recordings.
• AI-generated data (descriptions, search tags) is stored securely and retained only as long as the associated recording exists and is deleted when you delete the recording or disable the feature.

Lorex does not use your recordings for advertising or unrelated profiling.

How to use it:

1. From the Home page, tap in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Tap Enable AI Smart Search+.
3. Configure for which devices you would like to enable AI Smart Search+ by selecting them. Then tap Save to continue.
4. Tap the search bar to open it, and type in what you would like to search for (i.e. “package delivered”). Tap Search to display results (By default ordered by relevancy).
5. Tap to change the layout of the results.
6. Tap  to change the order of the results.
7. Tap  to filter the results by date and camera. Tap Apply to filter the results.
8. Tap the Play icon to view a specific video search result. 
   1. Tap Pause Icon, Forward, Backward, or toggle the timeline slider to navigate through the recording.
   2. Tap to save the recording to your personal device.
   3. Tap the to send the recording to another person.
   4. Tap Mute to mute the footage, to save the recording to your personal device, the Cloud icon to save the recording to the cloud, the microSD card icon to save the recording to a microSD card, or the Fullscreen icon to view the footage in full screen, in the top right corner of the footage screen.
      

Revoking Access to Lorex AI Smart Search+:

1. Navigate to the Setting Page and click Account Settings.
2. Tap Privacy and Security.
3. Toggle off AI Smart AI Search+.
4. Confirm by tapping Revoke Access.

Device Opt-In Limits

• Single Plan:  1 device enabled for AI Smart Search+

• Multi Plan: 3 devices enabled for AI Smart Search+ (out of up to 10 total cloud storage devices)

Why aren't my new videos showing up in AI Smart Search+ right away?

It takes a short amount of time for the system to process, index, and analyze newly uploaded cloud videos. Once the indexing process is complete, your cloud videos will appear in your search results.
