At the center of this security camera is a cutting edge 8.51 MP image sensor. This sensor is capable of recording 4K video, which is especially important for security camera footage. 4K footage will ultimately provide you with the best chance to capture useable evidence should an incident ever occur.
Record 4K resolution video at a real-time 30 FPS (frames-per-second) rate with this Nocturnal security camera. Recording at 30 FPS will provide you with exceptionally smooth on-screen movement so you don't miss a moment.
This Nocturnal security cameras include a built-in microphone. The microphone will capture the sounds around the camera, providing you with additional information (and evidence, if needed) to your security.
This 4K resolution security camera contains 4× the amount of pixels as a 1080p security camera. Instead of recording at a pixel ratio of 1920 × 1080 (a total of 2,073,600 pixels), this 4K camera can record at a pixel ratio of 3840 × 2160 (a total of 8,294,400 pixels). The higher amount of pixels offered by a 4K security camera allows for much better digital enhancing. This means that when you spot something in your footage that you need to zoom in on, specific details, such as facial features, will remain visible for longer as you zoom in further and further into the image.
This nocturnal IP security camera includes a unique zoom lens, otherwise known as a motorized varifocal lens, that enables remote customization of your viewing area (and focus). Focus on a small area in astonishing detail thanks to the 4× optical zoom or survey a larger scene for maximum coverage. These adjustments can be easily made with your Lorex NVR or through our free mobile apps.
See further into the dark than ever before. Nocturnal security cameras come with high powered infrared LEDs that flood the scene in front of the camera with infrared lighting. Invisible to the naked eye, but not to the camera, this infrared lighting will allow your security camera to see in complete darkness.
Add external lights around your nocturnal security camera to utilize our revolutionary Color Night Vision technology. With CNV, you'll be able to capture a whole new level of details, such as the color of a car or the color of a person's clothes, which may prove invaluable if needed for evidence.
With a front illuminated image sensor, light energy (photons) would have to travel through a layer of metal wiring and transistors before reaching the image sensor's light sensitive area (photo-diode). These obstructions would diminish the amount of light that is ultimately captured. That is not the case with this security camera's back illuminated image sensor. The light no longer has to pass through that layer of wiring, which drastically improves the amount of light captured. This vastly enhances low-light performance and results in less digital noise to keep your security footage clean and clear.
This security camera automatically knows how to optimize the brightness of the video while minimizing motion blur thanks to its electronic shutter. An electronic shutter, as opposed to a mechanical shutter, does not rapidly open and shut with every picture (or frame). Instead, the image sensor accumulates light for a set amount of time (anywhere between 1/3 of a second to 1/100000 of a second), then resets (like the shutter closing) and gets ready for the next frame. In essence, a high shutter speed will provide the least amount of motion blur. However, a high shutter needs a lot of light, so finding the right balance can be difficult. Luckily, you don't have to worry about this, as the camera's eShutter™ figures it out for you.
As evening fades into night, this security camera will automatically shift into infrared night mode. In fact, if you are close enough, you will be able to hear a noticeable click the moment this happens. This is the Active Mechanical Lens Filter, otherwise known as the IR Cut Filter, disengaging. Without it, UV and infrared rays would be allowed to enter the lens during the day, causing distortions and discoloration to the video. This filter also reduces the effects of atmospheric conditions such as haze, to create sharper images with more depth and finer, richer color gradation. When daylight returns, this lens filter will automatically click back into position.
This security camera uses HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology to ensure that you capture the most important details, regardless of lighting conditions. Dynamic range is measured as the difference between the brightest point and the darkest point of the video. HDR technology uses this difference to automatically adjust the picture's brightness, resulting in optimized, highly-detailed security video.
This camera uses 3D-DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) technology to filter out digital noise from low-light scenes, as well as any noise caused by motion. By eliminating graininess, your camera provides a cleaner, more accurate image with better clarity, sharpness, and improved motion detection. It will also help reduces video file sizes as well, giving you greater disc space for storage.
Colors must be reproduced authentically in your security camera footage for useable evidence. Thankfully, this security camera will automatically adjust the color settings so that white areas in real life will be reproduced as white in your footage. Having a proper white balance will then consequently ensure that all other colors will be accurate. This camera also offers presets and total white balance customization through the NVR as well. These can be used for additional levels of white balance control to suit your needs.
Keep the 4K footage without the 4K file sizes thanks to this camera's cutting-edge HEVC compression technology. HEVC stands for High Efficiency Video Compression (also known as H.265 or MPEG-H Part 2), and is used by the camera to compress video file sizes without any noticable difference in quality. Please note that an NVR capable of receiving this type of compression is necessary to utilize this feature.
Mother Nature is no match for this security camera. Rated IP67, it can endure anything from torrential downpours to freezing snowstorms. So go ahead and place this security camera where you need it most.
This housing of this security camera is built using high grade aluminum. This ensures that it is strong enough to withstand outdoor conditions for years to come.
This security camera only needs a single Cat5e ethernet cable to connect it to a compatible NVR. This cable provides video transmission, power to the camera, a stable network connection, and installation flexibility up to 300ft (as the camera does not need to be plugged into a nearby power source).
